Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using SoundMatch, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use SoundMatch. You confirm that the information you provide — including your age and profile details — is accurate, and that your use complies with the laws of your jurisdiction.

3. Your account

Accounts are created through Spotify sign-in. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your Spotify connection current. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. One account per person.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, impersonate, spam or defame other users.
• Scrape profiles, mass-collect user data, or use bots, scripts or automated swiping.
• Post content that is illegal, sexually exploitative, or infringes rights.
• Attempt to probe, disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.
• Use SoundMatch for commercial solicitation without written consent.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, without refund.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of your profile content and messages. You grant SoundMatch a limited licence to store, process and display that content to operate the service — for example, showing your taste chips to candidates or a shared song list to a match.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Paid tiers — Silver (₹199/month), Gold (₹299/month) and Platinum (₹399/month) — renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel from your profile; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices include applicable taxes where stated. Except where law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice, which takes effect at your next renewal.

Note: this build simulates payments — no card is charged and no real billing occurs.

7. Spotify

SoundMatch integrates with the Spotify Web API under Spotify's Developer Terms. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Spotify AB. Spotify access can be revoked by you at any time, which may limit how SoundMatch works.

8. Service changes and termination

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of SoundMatch. You may delete your account anytime; certain records may be retained where required by law or for dispute resolution, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

SoundMatch is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Compatibility scores and certification tiers are entertainment signals, not guarantees of compatibility, safety or outcomes. You are responsible for your interactions with other users; exercise the same caution you would meeting anyone new.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SoundMatch will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or ₹500 if you have paid nothing).

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts in Bengaluru having exclusive jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions: legal@soundmatch.app.
